Instrument Engineer (Bergen, Norway)
It is necessary to incorporate a profile of Instrument Engineer in Bergen, Norway. Reports to: Department Manager EIT
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for engineering and execution services for projects.
- Take discipline responsibilities in multidiscipline projects.
- Ensure that all services in a project meet standards and comply with government regulations.
Minimum Requirements:
- Knowledge of authority rules and regulations.
- Technically competent in Fixed Equipment Reliability Engineering.
- Demonstrated knowledge of design theory, equipment sizing and selection, design specifications, industry standards, monitoring, preventative maintenance, and repair methods.
- Familiarity with internationally recognized Codes and Standards associated with the subject equipment.
Valuable Requirements:
- Deep understanding of instrumentation principles and control systems (PLC, DCS, SCADA).
- Knowledge of process control methodologies, loop tuning, and control strategies.
- Knowledge of fieldbus protocols such as HART, Profibus, and Foundation Fieldbus.
- Understanding of analog and digital signal processing.
Academic Knowledge:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s in Electrical Engineering.

Functions:
- Management and execution of minor modifications.
- Work with engineering operations and maintenance on the selection, application, and interpretation of electro equipment.
- Evaluate and validate new and existing maintenance concepts and prepare proposals.
- Review and monitor planned maintenance activities.
- Define security stocks to ensure the required availability of equipment.
- Study and preparation of specifications for major modification work.
- Participation in HAZOPs and operability studies.
- Provide recommendations to reduce maintenance costs.
- Preparation of procedures for specific jobs.
- Analyzing and reporting incidents related to equipment which could have repercussions on maintenance policy.
Salary:
- 700,000 NOK
Experience:
- 3-5 years of relevant experience.
